The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my most recent experience at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .
The State of Affairs: Squalid and Neglected
From the moment I entered , it was apparent that upkeep was not a priority at this bar . The floorboards were filthy, and a nauseating aroma of old alcohol and neglected washrooms polluted the entire venue . Emitting a scent of a mixture of urine , old age and sour vomit . The counter , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and trash that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The toilet was in even more deplorable shape — backed up, with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human waste .
